Jacelyn Wheat is an American meteorologist and broadcaster serving at WBRZ-TV as a meteorologist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She joined the Station in April 2022 after working as a logistics specialist for Allied Sales & Service Co. Inc.
Jacelyn Wheat Education
Following her graduation from East Ascension High School, Wheat embarked on an enriching academic journey at The American University of Rome, where she immersed herself in the study of both the language and the rich cultural heritage of ancient Rome. Furthermore, she transitioned to the University of South Alabama, where she dedicated herself to the rigorous pursuit of knowledge in the fields of meteorology and broadcasting, ultimately earning her degree in 2022.
Jacelyn Wheat Career
Due to her diligent work, Jacelyn got her first job as a grader at the University of South Alabama. She has graded for the Intro to Meteorology, Synoptic Meteorology, and General Meteorology courses. In August 2020, she secured the dance instructor position at Rhythm Dance Center. Consequently, Wheat taught children of all ages how to dance and, more importantly, have fun.
In November 2020, Wheat commenced her tenure at the Atmoscenter as a student meteorologist, a position through which she diligently crafted weekly weather forecasts for The University of South Alabama’s Atmoscenter. The invaluable opportunity to refine her skills with the green wall, a vital component of meteorological presentations, proved instrumental in her developmental journey preceding her entry into the professional realm. Her dedicated service persisted until June of 2022, marking a significant chapter in her meteorological pursuits.
Jacelyn joined Allied Sales & Service Co. Inc. as a Logistics Specialist. She was in charge of the shipping and receiving, along with helping with inside sales. She has worked there to date. Additionally, Wheat joined WBRZ-TV for her internship in June 2021. After finishing her internship, she transitioned to being a meteorologist. She enjoys her work and is still working to date.
