Steve Chenevey is an American Award-winning Journalist working at FOX 5 NEWS serving as an Anchor since he joined the station in November 2013. Formerly, Chenevey worked at WJLA-TV as an anchor.
Steve Chenevey Career/Education
Chenevey studied at Clarion University and earned his high honors degree. He is currently playing his role as a News Anchor at FOX 5 station since he rejoined the network in November 2013. Steve previously worked at the station from December 2002 to January 2012.
Chenevey began his journalism career when he first worked in radio before talking his way into a position as a TV sports reporter covering high school football. He then graduated to cover the NFL and NCAA. Chenevey moved to DC to first work at WTTG in 2003 and has now spent almost a decade waking up in the middle of the night to help the DC region get the day started.

Chenevey was born and raised in Pittsburgh, United States. He has not shared much information about his family however, he wished his mother Mrs. Chenevey, a Happy Mother’s Day in a Facebook post he made on the 10th of May 2020. The photo was a picture of his mother with the caption, “This is my mom. It’s not the most flattering photo but it’s real. For 70 years she played the piano. She studied in New York City before moving to a town of 1200 people in the middle of nowhere, working three jobs to raise a family.
Mom taught hundreds of people in that town and the surrounding ones how to play the piano through decades of private, and public school and college/university instruction. She played around the world often for others as an uncredited accompanist. Dementia and brain degeneration have stolen most of her memories. A partial stroke stole most of her mobility.
Mom hadn’t touched her once beloved piano in years until I put her in front of it a few months ago and simply said “Just play me one chord”. She played five. From memory. That’s all I needed. I love you, Mom. Happy Mother’s Day today and always.” Steve’s father also passed at 83 years of age on the 24th of December 2021.
