Gardner Elizabeth is an American journalist and geoscientist serving at WRAL-TV as a meteorologist in Raleigh, North Carolina, she joined the Station in 1998 after working as a meteorologist for KXLY Broadcast Group.
Elizabeth Gardner Career | Education
Gardner attended St. Mary’s College in 1987, she joined the University of Colorado Boulder, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. Elizabeth continued with her studies at Mississippi State University, where she attained her Bachelor of Applied Science in Geosciences in 1997.
Elizabeth got her first job as a News Reporter at WGHP in August 1990. She served until March 1994. After one year, she transitioned as a Meteorologist at KXLY Broadcast Group for about 3 years. She works as a meteorologist at WRAL-TV and WRAL.com (Capitol Broadcasting Co.). Elizabeth has worked there since 1998.
Gardner serves as the morning and noon meteorologist, tasked with crafting the forecast, creating graphics, and overseeing 5.5 hours of broadcasting daily. Additionally, she is responsible for disseminating crucial weather updates across our social media platforms and website. Moreover, she produces weather segments for local radio stations, such as Mix 101.5 WRAL FM.
Elizabeth earned a Regional Emmy for Best Weathercast in 2001, received an Emmy nomination for weather anchor in 1998, and holds certification as a Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society, along with the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
