Alex Schneider is an American Meteorologist serving at FOX8 WGHP. She joined the Station in August 2022 after working as a Meteorologist for KTEN Weekend.
Alex Schneider Career | Education
After finishing high school, Schneider worked as an Assistant Teacher at Judea Reform Congregation in North Carolina, from August 2012 to May 2016. Transitioning from this role, she became a Lifeguard at Aquatic Management Group in the same area, from May 2014 to September 2017. Following her passion for weather, she decided to attend the University of North Carolina Asheville to study Atmospheric Science. Upon completing her degree in 2020, Alex graduated with the necessary knowledge and skills to further explore her love for weather.
Alex began as a Weather Intern in Raleigh, North Carolina, in May 2018. Transitioning from this role, she became a Manager (Lifeguard) at Triangle Aquatics in Durham, North Carolina, from April to September 2018. This diverse experience allowed her to explore her passion for weather while also honing her leadership skills.
Schneider gained experience as a Weather Intern at WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina in May 2019, while attending the University of North Carolina at Asheville. During her studies, she held various roles, including Guest Service Associate and Programming Supervisor of Leadership Development for about one year. Additionally, she served as the Admissions Ambassador Program Director, from December 2016 to August 2020. Moreover, she worked as an Orientation Leader for nine months. This diverse experience greatly contributed to her academic and professional growth.
Before joining the FOX8 weather team in August 2022 as the weekend meteorologist, where Alex still works to date. Alex gained valuable experience as a Weekend Meteorologist at KTEN with Lockwood Broadcast Group in Sherman, Texas, United States. During her tenure there, she was employed full-time for about 3 years. In addition, During her free time, Schneider finds joy in diving into books, sharing moments with her beloved dog, Enso, rooting for the Tar Heels, and relishing the outdoors.
