Smith Ken is an American-British award-winning journalist serving at WRAL-TV as a news anchor and reporter. He joined the station in December 1998 after working as an anchor and reporter for WSFA 12 News.

Smith graduated with his high school diploma from Charlotte Amalia High School. Later, he joined the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 1986. Ken got his first job in August 1993. He served as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KGW TV for about 2 years. He worked for a news magazine and was the fill-in anchor for the show that aired during the access period.

Upon joining WSFA 12 News, Ken worked as a news anchor and reporter until November 1998. In December 1998, he moved to WRAL-TV as a reporter and anchor, where he currently serves. His duties entail general assignment reporting and serving as the morning anchor for NBC/FOX Duopoly at 7, 8, and 9 a.m.

Additionally, he received two Georgia Associated Press awards for Best Feature and Best Spot News.

Throughout his time at the International Student Club, from January 1984 to May 1986, Ken dedicated himself to serving as a tutor and mentor, aiming to give back to the community. His primary focus was improving their grammar and English-speaking skills, mostly from the Caribbean islands, and helping students.
