Steve Villanueva is an American Traffic Reporter serving at WPTV as a Morning Meteorologist. He joined the Station in 2016 after working as a meteorologist for WNBC.
Steve Villanueva Career | Education
Villanueva enrolled at Mississippi State University and holds an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Meteorology. He furthered his education in 1992 at New York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Broadcast Journalism.
He began his career at KOSA-TV in the Odessa/Midland, Texas Area where he has worked for one year as a Morning Meteorologist. Villanueva left and worked for KCOY/KKFX in Santa Maria, CA from 1998 to 2001 as a Chief Meteorologist. After working in Santa Maria, he joined KCPQ-TV Q13 FOX in Seattle, WA, and worked for one year as a Weekend Meteorologist.
In 2002, he worked as a weekend Meteorologist at UPN 9 News in Secaucus, NJ until 2006. He then worked for WRC NBC4 in the Washington D.C. Metro Area for three years as a Weekend Meteorologist. His next stop was at WTNH-TV in New Haven, CT where he worked from 2010 to 2012 as a Weekend Meteorologist.
In 2012, he joined WPIX-TV as a Meteorologist and Traffic Reporter until September 2012. He transitioned to the Greater New York City Area to work for WNBC as a Meteorologist for three years and one month. Villanueva currently serves as a Morning Meteorologist at WFLX FOX 29 in West Palm Beach, Florida, United States. In her spare time, he likes watching soccer and tennis and also sources for the New York Mets and Jets.
