Renee Chou Biography
Chou Renee is an American journalist serving at WRAL-TV as a weekend morning anchor in Raleigh, North Carolina, she joined the Station in October 2004 after working as a weekend anchor and reporter for KCRG-TV.
Renee Chou Career | Education
Chou pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1994 to 1998. Before graduating, she worked as an anchor and reporter at KOMU-TV in Columbia, for one year, gaining valuable experience in journalism.
Renee moved to KCRG-TV as a weekend anchor and reporter, where she worked until 2014. Immediately, she got her first job at WRAL-TV as a News Reporter. In March 2005, Chou transitioned to a Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter. She stayed in that position for about 6 years.
Chou continued with her career at WRAL-TV but with a different role as a weekend evening anchor and reporter in June 2012. Throughout the years, she fulfilled roles as the anchor for weekend mornings and evenings. Renee was promoted to anchor the station’s flagship morning newscasts in March 2014, where she works.
In 2015, Renee was honored with a Regional Emmy for her exemplary work in General Assignment Reporting. Before that, her coverage of Hurricane Sandy in 2014 earned her another Regional Emmy and the title of “Best Weather Reporting” from the NC Associated Press Broadcast Awards. Additionally, her exceptional work on the Kathy Taft murder trial in 2013 secured her yet another Emmy. In 2020, she received a Regional Emmy nomination for her outstanding contribution to Best Morning Newscast. Moreover, Renee’s reports have earned accolades from prestigious institutions including the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas, the Missouri Broadcasters Association, and the Iowa Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
