Steve Weagle Biography
Steve Weagle is an American journalist serving at WPTV as a Chief Meteorologist. He joined the Station in 1998 after working for CTV and the Weather Service.

Weagle first attended The University of New Brunswick in 1984 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), in Math and Physics in 1988. He enrolled at Dalhousie University in 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. He began his career working for CTV and the Weather Service. In 1998, he joined his current station NewsChannel 5 as a Chief Meteorologist.
The AMS awarded him the CBM Seal, the highest seal for television forecasters. One example of his career highlight is 2004 Hurricane Frances, where he talked South Floridians through the storm for almost 67 hours straight. Other highlights include Hurricane Jeanne and Hurricane Wilma.
One moment he won’t forget is covering the 2003 tornado that tore through South Florida. Weagle has been biking the 125 miles from Sebastian to Boca Raton for his Ride for the Red Cross for almost twenty years in June. Moreover, he supports multiple other local charities and talks to tens of thousands of audiences each year about hurricane preparedness.
