Amy Russo is an American Emmy nominated Journalist working at WGNO News, serving as a Morning News Anchor since May 2023. She first joined the station as an Anchor and Reporter in March 2022. Russo formerly worked at WCIV as a Multimedia Journalist.

Russo studied at Troy University from 2014 to 2018 and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. She is currently playing her role as a morning news anchor since she got the position in May of 2023. Amy first joined the station performing her duties as an anchor and reporter from March 2022 to May 2023 prior to her promotion.
Amy started her career in television as a digital producer at WEAR-TV in her hometown of Pensacola, Florida. She went on to work as a sideline sports reporter and producer for the newscast at six o’clock in the evening.
Following more than a year with WEAR, Amy performed at WCIV-TV in Charleston, South Carolina. She began working there as a weekend reporter and later advanced to morning and dayside reporting positions. In addition, she filled in as the anchor for multiple newscasts every week.
Amy’s coverage of a large-scale march on the Ravenel Bridge earned her an Emmy nomination while she worked at WCIV. She developed a solid set of reporting and anchoring abilities throughout her two years in the Lowcountry.
