Dave Griffiths is an American Award-winning Journalist working at FOX 59 News, serving as a Sports anchor and reporter since he joined the station in November 2014. Formerly, Griffiths worked at WTXL ABC27 HD as a Weekend Sports anchor.
Dave Griffiths Career/Education
Dave earned a dual degree in political science and broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2007. He was a sports department employee of CitrusTV, the nation’s first and biggest student-run television station when he was a student at SU.
Griffiths is presently performing his duties as a sports anchor and reporter at FOX 59 News since he secured a position at the network in November of 2014. He is a well-respected sports journalist who has won numerous honors from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press before joining FOX59.
Dave spent almost five years covering sports at four major institutions and over fifty local high schools as a sports anchor and reporter for WTXL in Tallahassee before relocating to Indianapolis. His busiest month occurred at the close of 2013 and the start of 2014. He accompanied Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston to New York City for the Heisman Trophy presentation, and then he traveled to Pasadena, California, for the last BCS National Championship game with the entire Seminole squad.
Dave began his career as a sportscaster at Bozeman, Montana’s KWYB. Although he covered the odd rodeo, his main assignment was to cover Montana State football on TV. He did this for three seasons, and in 2011, the Society of Professional Journalists awarded him a First Place award for sports reporting.
