Courtney Crown is an American Award-winning Journalist working at FOX 59 News, serving as a Reporter, since she joined the station in April 2019. Formerly, Crown worked at WHNT News 19 as a reporter.
Courtney Crown Career/Education
Crown studied at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communications along with a minor in Public Relations. Courtney is presently, performing her duties as a reporter for FOX 59 News, since she secured a position at the network in April 2019.
After almost six years in Alabama, where she worked for WTVY News 4 in Dothan and WHNT News 19 in Huntsville, she moved back to the Midwest, however, her hometown is Coshocton, Ohio. Courtney’s greatest interest is securing justice for other people. She worked as an investigative reporter for WHNT News 19 prior to joining FOX59/CBS4. To date, July 13, 2017, has been Courtney’s proudest moment. On that day, the prosecution opted not to pursue burglary charges against a guy who was mistakenly identified in the year 2016. In an attempt to establish her son’s innocence, the man’s mother approached WHNT News 19.
Courtney put in a great deal of effort over the course of four months to persuade the prosecution and defense that they were looking at the incorrect person. One day before her report was broadcast, the assistant district attorney dropped the charges.

For a documentary on the Downtown Rescue Mission, Courtney was awarded the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award. As one of three members of a team, she contributed to the creation of a 30-minute special about the assistance and healing provided by the mission.
Additionally, she covered the Florida Panhandle in particular while she was in Dothan, Alabama. At the time, Crown won two Florida Associated Press Awards for Best Series Reporting and Best Hard News Feature. In addition, she conducted one-on-one interviews with current and past inmates of Florida prisons regarding their involvement in re-entry programs for Best Series Reporting. Crown and a former colleague covered the exhumation of bodies at the notorious Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida, won Best Hard News Feature.
