Belinda Jensen is an American Award-winning Weather Forecaster working at KARE 11 News, an NBC affiliate, serving as a Meteorologist since she joined the station in September 1993. Formerly, Jensen worked at the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Belinda Jensen Career/Education
Jensen studied at the University of Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Additionally, she also attended and graduated from the University of Utah. Belinda has been performing her duties as a Chief Meteorologist at KARE 11 News, an affiliate of NBC, since December 2005.
She first became part of the network as a meteorologist in September of 1993 prior to getting a promotion to her current role. She also serves as the feature reporter for “Minnesota Bound,” co-host of “Grow with KARE,” and co-host of “KARE 11 News Saturday.”
Prior to joining KARE, Jensen was employed in Salt Lake City, Utah’s National Weather Service. She also produced weather reports and co-anchored a morning program at the Salt Lake City ABC affiliate for three years. For her work in broadcast meteorology, Jensen has been awarded the AMS Seal of Approval.
She gives back to her community by getting involved in the classroom and encouraging children, especially girls, to pursue science. Furthermore, Belinda is the author of the Bel the Weathergirl children’s book series.
