Patrick Wright is an American Weather Forecaster working at Action News Now serving as a Weekend Meteorologist and Weekday Weather MultiMedia Journalist since he joined the station in July 2021. Formerly, Wright worked at KOMO TV as a Weather Intern.
Patrick Wright Career/Education
Wright studied at Penn State University from the year 2015 to 2020 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. He became a member of the student-run Campus Weather Service, which covers the university and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania when he was there. His primary responsibility was weather forecasting and informing the public about the conditions. He eventually rose to the position of Vice President, overseeing social media pages and live broadcasts during extreme weather.
He is currently performing his duties as a weekend meteorologist and weekday weather multimedia journalist since he became part of Action News Now in July 2021. His interest in earth sciences and news media sparked his meteorological journey at an early age. He eventually made his way to The Weather Channel, where he encountered influencers like Stephanie Abrams and Jim Cantore.
Despite having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, namely in the greater Seattle area, he developed a deep affection for the West Coast’s weather and the difficulty of predicting the numerous microclimates that the area offers.
