Who is Kimberly Gill?
Kimberly Gill is an American Emmy award-winning journalist, News Anchor, and Producer. Currently, she is a News Anchor and host for WDIV-TV in the Greater Detroit Area. She anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. editions of Local 4 News and streaming live at 10 p.m. on Local 4+on weekdays. She worked for KDKA-TV prior to joining WDIV-TV.

Gill attended Newberry High School where she attained a High school Diploma. Later, joined the University of South Carolina where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting. Additionally, she also holds a Master’s degree in Business from Ashland University, Ashland, OH. While still in University, Kimberly paid her way through college by driving 18-wheelers for FedEx and fueled airplanes.
The start of her career in TV was in South Carolina working for CBS affiliate WBTW News 13 in the Florence Myrtle Beach market, solo anchoring three hours of morning weekday news while producing and anchoring News 13 at Noon. She worked for WBTW-TV13 CBS from July 2002 to July 2007. In Oct 2011, Kim joined KDKA-TVas a News Anchor, and hosted a news magazine program called “Your Pittsburgh”. Gill later left the company in Nov 2014 when she proceeded to join WDIV-TV where she currently works as a News Anchor and Reporter.
In 2022 she was awarded the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast in 2022 along with her team. In addition, she was also named Best News Anchor by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters in both 2017 and 2019.
Kimberly is also a volunteer to numerous charitable and civic organizations over the years including the Junior League of Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
