Ciara Encinas is an American Emmy Award Winning MMJ and Producer working as a Multimedia Journalist for ABC10 News in San Diego. She joined ABC10 in December 2021 after serving KGUN-TV On Your Side in Tucson, Arizona, United States as a Multimedia Journalist for 1 year and 9 months.
Ciara Encinas Career | Education
Encinas attended Moon Valley High School where she attained her High School Diploma in 2014. She then joined the University of Arizona where she later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism in 2018. While in college she had the opportunity to intern in different stations across the state.
Her first internship took her to Tucson, Arizona area where she interned at Tucson News Now. She also interned at CBS News in Washington DC as a Newspath Intern and KVOA-TV in Tucson. In May 2018 she joined KYMA-TV in Yuma, Arizona Area as a News Reporter and Multimedia Journallist. After 2 years she left the station in April 2020 joining KGUN-TV 9 On Your Side as a Multimedia Journalist.
During her stay in KGUN, she covered community issues like the growing homelessness crisis and how TCE water contamination continues to impact Tucson families 40 years later. After a year and 9 months, Ciara left KGUN-TV in December 2021 joining her current station ABC10 as a Multimedia Journalist. When off her duties she loves outdoor activities including hiking, visiting coffee spots around town, or just spending time with her pug Fitz.
